Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some of the top questions we are asked, along with some other questions that you should consider asking any photographer or videographer you plan to hire for your special day.
What is your experience in weddings?
We have been shooting weddings since 2006. We've done hundreds of weddings and have been working professionally in the field for many years.
What kind of equipment do you use?
We use numerous high-end Nikon dSLR cameras, flashes, lenses, camera mounts, stabilizers, and lighting equipment. For specific questions, please email us at [email protected]. If you have a special request, let us know and we'll look into purchasing it.
How long until I get my final wedding photos or video?
It usually takes a few weeks to edit everything and deliver your finalized products. Of course, this time period is dependent upon receiving song selections from you in a timely manner if you are having a slideshow or video made, and can also depend on what package you select. You might get your photos faster if it's just the raw photos you are receiving. Typically it's about 3-4 weeks for wedding photos and 6-12 weeks for video.
How many photos will I get or how long is the final video?
We typically shoot around 1,000-1,500 photos for a full-length wedding. The number varies depending on what's going on at the wedding and how much time we have at each location, and we always value quality over quantity. We shoot in RAW and deliver in high-res JPEG. For videos, you can expect a montage that lasts about 3-5 minutes, and a full-length video that lasts about an hour. Raw footage will usually include about 2-3 hours of video.
Are you insured?
Absolutely. We have a $3,000,000 General Liability Insurance Policy and can have certificates of insurance generated if the venue requires it.
Do you work well with other vendors?
We strive to make sure we don't get in or stay in the way of other vendors. Having worked with videographers, photographers, and DJ's for many years, we understand how difficult it is for the videographer to move during the ceremony, and so we make sure to jump in, get the shot, and then move out of their way quickly if we're doing photography. Aside from taking the lead during the formal portraits, we like to work in the background to capture real moments that aren't posed or forced. These moments tend to be the best and really capture the emotions of the day. We also like to speak with the other vendors at the beginning of the day to make sure we're able to work together smoothly. Most of the vendors we have worked with have become friends with us because they enjoyed our company during the shoot.
Do you use flash?
We'll use flash if it's not going to be too distracting. During the reception we almost always use it, especially if it's dark. Flash during the ceremony really depends on the environment. Our cameras and lenses are easily able to capture enough light without flash, so we generally avoid it during the ceremony so it's not distracting.
Do you make albums or slideshows, and how much are they?
We offer both albums and slideshows, and can discuss pricing options with you when custom-building your package. Feel free to inquire by emailing us!
What are raw photos and how are they delivered to me?
Raw photos are unedited photos. These are the basic shots that come directly out of the camera, meaning they are only edited for brightness and color. Blemishes, darkness under the eyes, teeth whitening, etc., will not be done on raw images. Raw photos are great to have so you get to see all the photos from the whole day.
We send all of the photos to you via a link so you can download and save them all to your computer, and then depending on your package, a certain number of photos will be touched up using Photoshop.

Do I get to choose the music for my video and/or slideshow?
Yes. If you are getting a slideshow made, we will ask you to select a song, and once we know the length of the song, we will let you know how many images we can put into the slideshow (generally from 50-60 shots). For videos, we can edit music of your choice throughout the video, and will discuss with you exactly how many songs we'll want you to choose after your wedding when we know how long the final video will be.
Is there a contract and a deposit required? What if you're sick or unable to make it?
We use a contract and a booking deposit is required to reserve the date. You will review and sign the contract before you submit the deposit. If you'd like to see a copy of the contract, we're happy to send you one, but most of the contractual questions will be answered in this "Frequently Asked Questions" page. It's very rare, but if someone on our team is sick, we have numerous other shooters that work with us, all with high-levels of experience. We will simply put another shooter on to cover your wedding, one who has a similar eye and style to the photographer/videographer who was unable to make it.
Will you book other shoots on the same day as my wedding?
We generally never book another shoot for the same shooter the same day unless you haven't yet placed a deposit and someone else books before you. In terms of travel, we always aim to arrive to weddings about an hour before our contract stipulates so that we have plenty of time in the event of traffic or some other unforeseen circumstances.
Can I save money on a package by opting for less hours of coverage?
Yes, but only if you let us know before signing the contract and placing the deposit, otherwise the minimum rate is what is specified in the contract, even if you need less hours the day of.
How does payment work?
The deposit is due when booking the date and signing the contract, and then the balance of the payment is due before you receive the finalized photos or raw video footage. Most people opt to pay the balance on the night of the wedding, but it's up to you. Payment can be made in cash, card, or check.
Do you do destination weddings?
We definitely do! If you are having a wedding at an exotic location, feel free to reach out and we'll let you know what's involved and whether we'll be able to make it.
